Intersectoral approaches: the key to mitigating psychosocial and health consequences of disasters and systemic risks

Purpose The current pandemic and ongoing climate risks highlight the limited capacity of various systems, including health social ones, to respond population-scale long-term threats. Practices reduce impacts on well-being populations must evolve from a reactive mode preventive, proactive concerted actions beginning at individual community levels. Experiences lessons learned will help better prevent psychosocial floods, or other hydroclimatic risks, in change context. Design/methodology/approach present paper first describes complexity challenges associated with systemic risks.
